Since 1944, the Conestoga Volunteer Fire Company has proudly served the residents and visitors of Conestoga Township in southern Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. As Station 53, we are committed to protecting our community through professional emergency response, public service, and community involvement.
Our first-due response area covers approximately 13 square miles and serves a population of nearly 3,500 residents. This diverse area includes rural farmland, steep wooded river hills, residential developments, and a variety of commercial and agricultural properties, presenting unique challenges that require a highly trained and adaptable fire service.
Conestoga Volunteer Fire Company is staffed by approximately 30 dedicated volunteer firefighters and emergency responders. Our members are your neighbors—men and women who generously volunteer their time to protect the community they call home. They answer the call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, responding to approximately 200 emergency incidents annually.
Our members receive extensive training in a wide range of emergency services, including:
- Structural Firefighting
- Hazardous Materials Operations
- First Aid and CPR
- Water Rescue
- Vehicle Rescue
- Fire Prevention and Public Education
Many of our members are certified Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs), and most firefighters have achieved Firefighter I and Firefighter II certifications through the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. These rigorous training programs meet the same professional standards completed by career firefighters across the state, ensuring our community receives skilled and effective emergency services.
For more than 80 years, our department has been built on the dedication of volunteers, the support of our community, and a commitment to continuous improvement. We are honored to serve our neighbors and remain ready to respond whenever help is needed.
Dedicated to Excellence. Delivered with Pride.
